1950s - A New Era

As a result of massive pressure on the government during the February 1950 election campaign, petrol rationing came to an end. This was the green light that Friary needed to immediately embark upon increasingly adventurous summer camps. In that summer of 1950 a lorry was hired from Hawley’s of Nottingham to take the troop to Anglesey for 10 days. During which, the highlight became an ascent of Mount Snowden.
